TRAC, Toyota, and Pertamina Patra Niaga Team Up to Reach Net Zero Emission 2060

Serasi Autoraya (TRAC), Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), and Pertamina Patra Niaga launched an innovative collaboration on November 22, 2024, at the opening of Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GAJW) in ICE BSD, South Tangerang. This initiative aims to support Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2060 vision by testing the use of E10 bioethanol as a green fuel alternative.

This collaboration focuses on implementing Use Case Collaboration, which integrates Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy to study the effectiveness of electric vehicle technology and alternative fuels in reducing emissions. Toyota provides various types of vehicles, including ICE, Hybrid EV, and Plug-In Hybrid EV, which TRAC will use for their operation rental needs. They are equipped with Astra Fleet Management System (Astra FMS) technology to monitor fuel efficiency, driving behavior, and engine conditions in real time. Pertamina Patra Niaga will supply E10 bioethanol as an alternative fuel.

As one of Indonesia’s largest vehicle rental companies catering to both corporate and individual customers, TRAC has launched the Carbon Reduction Energy 2030 initiative, driven by the shared vision for carbon neutrality. This initiative includes a target to reduce emissions from vehicles operated by TRAC in 2030 by 30%.

The trial will last a year at TRAC’s car lot in Surabaya, East Java. The trial data, which covers fuel consumption, emissions, and engine performance, will be crucial for developing vehicle technology and alternative fuels in the future.

“TRAC is always committed to running an eco-friendly transportation business. This collaboration shows our real effort to cut carbon emissions by conducting a trial using cleaner energy in our vehicles. We hope this helps us provide a greener mode of transportation and achieve our sustainability goals,” said Mohammad Farauk, President Director of PT Serasi Autoraya (TRAC).
