Serasi Autoraya (SERA) and all its subsidiaries launched a program to plant 20,000 mangroves at the Semarang Mangrove Center on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. This program is part of the company’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. This three-year activity aims to strengthen local communities by protecting the coast of Java Island and helping to absorb greenhouse gas effects.
Mangroves play a vital role in protecting coastlines from erosion, providing habitats for various species, and absorbing carbon as a way to mitigate climate change. “We’re very excited about this program. #MenanamKebaikan (Planting Good Deeds) is our tagline to show our commitment to protecting the environment and supporting sustainability,” said Happy Putro, Head of SERA’s Corporate GASRHSSE Division.
Through this program, SERA hopes to raise public awareness about the importance of mangrove conservation and encourage real action to protect coastal ecosystems. “We believe that by planting mangroves, we’re not just planting trees, but also planting good deeds for the future,” he added.
This mangrove planting is expected to impact the environment and the local community positively. By preserving the mangrove ecosystem, SERA also protects biodiversity, improves air quality, and creates a healthier and more sustainable environment. SERA also invites everyone to work together to protect nature and make this program an inspiration for other companies.
This initiative is a real step in showing SERA’s commitment to environmental preservation for a better future.
