Consign Your Company Car with IBID: A Simple Guide

Selling a car, including company vehicles, can be a quick way to generate cash. However, selling too hastily without understanding the market can lead to losses rather than profits.

To mitigate this risk, consigning your company’s car to an auction house can be an excellent solution. Auctions are one of the fairest methods to obtain the best price for a vehicle, whether it’s personally owned or company property.

Moreover, the entire process, from bidding to the auction itself, is transparent. This is because professionals carefully inspect the cars to determine their accurate value based on the condition.

That said, it’s crucial to choose the right auction house. The organizer’s reputation is paramount. For consigning your company’s car, select a trusted, professional, and reputable auction house like IBID, a subsidiary of PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA).

IBID’s Consignment Methods

Consigning a car through IBID is quite easy. There are two methods of consignment available for both individuals and companies. For added convenience, you can submit a request for company car consignment online.

IBID offers two consignment options: regular and exclusive auctions. Regular consignment is a service for live auctions, which you can attend in person.

If you choose this option, you’ll need to bring your car to the nearest IBID branch. You can check the locations here. The auction is conducted live, ensuring complete transparency.

The alternative is an exclusive consignment, also known as a Flash Auction. This option is ideal if you want to sell your car quickly. You don’t have to come to the auction site. Just monitor the process remotely.

How to Consign Your Car

Become an IBID member by registering with your email or social media account. Ensure all your information is complete in your account settings.

Next, click the “Titip Lelang” (Consign Your Car) tab on the IBID website or app. Fill out the form with complete information about your car.

Then, select your preferred inspection date. You can choose between a regular inspection at a nearby IBID location or an exclusive home or office inspection.

For easier transactions, IBID provides a company account option. Therefore, you can directly consign items as a company without needing an intermediary.

Additionally, company account access covers not only consignment but also auction participation, buying Auction Participant Numbers (NPL), and redeeming IBID Points.

After submitting your consignment request, the IBID team will contact you within two business days to confirm vehicle information and schedule an inspection.  The inspector will provide the best price based on the inspection results.

An additional advantage of consigning company cars with IBID is the ability to list multiple vehicles simultaneously, saving time and effort.

Finally, complete the cooperation agreement between your company and IBID. Select your desired Flash Auction schedule. An IBID inspector will conduct the auction for 15 minutes.

If your car sells, it will be transferred to the IBID car lot, and you will receive a handover document. Payment details will be sent to your email.

Funds will be transferred to your registered account within five business days of the auction. A 2.5% administrative fee will be charged on the final selling price.
