Tips to Stay Productive While Fasting

When you are fasting, your body will feel less energetic than usual. This is understandable because your body lacks intake as you are not allowed to eat and drink from after suhoor until iftar time.

For you who work, this presents a challenge to maintain your physical condition because some people tend to slack off while fasting.

As a professional, you must manage every assigned task and responsibility to receive a positive assessment from your superior. Thus, staying productive to perform the planned work in the allotted time is necessary.

There are several things to consider to stay productive while fasting, such as making a list of tasks to complete and working out. Find out more below.

Five Things to Do to Stay Productive While Fasting

Make a Priority List

Before going to the office, it is best that you make a list of tasks to complete that day. It will be easier for you to complete all tasks as they become more structured, allowing them to be finished on time.

You can also use Google Calendar to receive list reminders to avoid missing any tasks.

Working Out Regularly

Good physical condition is important for you to stay productive in your office. Working out regularly, ranging from stretching to jogging, is one of the things you can do to maintain your physical condition.

You can do it for only about 15 to 30 minutes. You will feel more motivated to stay productive in your office if you do it regularly.

Eat Nutritious Food During Suhoor and Iftar

Even when you feel sleepy, try to eat nutritious food during suhoor to get enough nutrition that will be useful for all-day activity. Try to eat more food with high levels of proteins and vitamins, such as fish, meat, vegetables, or fruits.

The same also applies to iftar. Do not be tempted to have your complete meal immediately. Because your stomach is empty during fasting, it is better to first consume sweet food or drinks to restore your energy.

Complete Urgent Tasks First

It is best to complete the urgent tasks in the morning when you are still fresh. Before 1 PM, you usually still have enough energy to focus more on urgent tasks.

Take a Power Nap During Break Time

If you usually spend break time on lunch, you can spend it taking a power nap for about 15-30 minutes. It can help restore your mood and energy before going back to work.
