Car owners will typically sell their beloved cars to a seller or a dealer. Only a few will consider consigning them to an auction house, and some are even unaware that they can do so.
Now, you can consign your privately-owned car to an auction house to put it up for auction. That is what the consignment auction service from IBID is all about: you can sell your old car at this auction house quickly and easily.
In the past, the auction house’s items came from large companies, financing companies, private companies, and government agencies, but now IBID can auction cars from individuals.
Consigning your car with IBID is also fast and easy, too. Wondering how to do it? Here is how.
1. Visit IBID’s website or download the app from Google Play, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery
First, visit IBID’s official website at ibid.astra.co.id or download the app, which is available on Google Play, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery. Next, tap on TITIP LELANG (CONSIGNMENT AUCTION) tab, then tap on DAFTAR SEBAGAI INDIVIDU (REGISTER AS AN INDIVIDUAL) if the car to be auctioned is your car.
2. Fill out the Consignment Auction form
Enter your personal details—phone number, name, and bank account number—and upload a photo of your ID. Proceed to fill out the consignment auction form to provide details about your car.
3. Take your car to IBID’s nearest branch to be inspected by the Astra Car Valuation (ACV) team
Visit the nearest branch at the inspection time you have scheduled. The Astra Car Valuation (ACV) team will inspect your car, from the exterior to the interior and from the frame down to the engine. The inspection will grade your car based on its condition: excellent, good, fair, poor, or very poor.
4. Get an appraisal for your car based on the Market Auction Price (MAP) data
After the inspection, the ACV team will provide you with details of your car’s health and recommended reserve prices you can choose. The price recommendations are based on the Market Auction Price (MAP) database, which stores data on thousands of cars auctioned at IBID.
You can also check out by yourself the average market price for your car by signing up as a MAP member via its website. You can specify the search parameters to find out information about other vehicles in the database. You can also choose the type of chart shown, from pie to bar chart. To register as a MAP member, signing up is all you need to do. After that, you are free to browse this used car database. The service is available free of charge.
5. Your car is ready to be auctioned on the next auction schedule
After you and IBID have reached an agreement about the car, it will be immediately auctioned on the nearest available schedule, either at a Live Auction, a Timed Auction, or a Flash Auction.
Flash Auction is the latest offering from IBID, enabling you to sell your car quickly by putting it up for auction. Why? Because your car will be immediately auctioned on the nearest auction schedule.
IBID is one of the auction houses with the most auctions held in a week, so your car will have a better chance of getting sold quickly.
Selling your car at an auction is an alternative way to get the most appropriate price based on its actual, unreconditioned state. The car’s condition will heavily determine the price at which it is eventually sold, and that is why many car traders seek after auctioned cars to maximize their profits.
Also, there is a chance that your car might end up getting sold above the market price if you consign it with an auction house because an auction will allow it to be sold to the highest bidder.
Easy, right? You can check out the instructions on how to consign your car with IBID here. What are you waiting for? Consign your car with IBID today and have fun auctioning it!
