NEW TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS TOWARD THE END OF 2021

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, access between cities and provinces has been restricted to avoid the spread of the virus. Without exception, the mobility restriction is also applied this year even though many people have been vaccinated. If you plan to travel during Christmas and New Year, it is important to know the following requirements.

The COVID-19 Handling Task Force has recently issued a circular letter regarding the year-end travel restriction rules. Level 3 public activity restriction is applied from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2021 throughout Indonesia.

AIR TRANSPORTATION

Travelers who use air transportation from and to Java and Bali Islands, including inter-district or city in these areas, are required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR taken at a maximum 3x24 hours prior to the departure if the vaccine is the first dose. However, if they have been vaccinated for the second dose, they may take the rapid antigen test taken at a maximum 1x24 hours prior to the departure.

Outside the Java and Bali areas, the air-transport passengers need to have taken at least the first dose of vaccine and show the results of the RT-PCR test (3x24 hours) or rapid test antigen (1x24 hours) prior to departure.

OVERLAND AND SEA TRANSPORT

Overland and sea travelers who use private or public vehicles are required to take the first dose vaccine and show the RT-PCR test results taken in a maximum of 3x24 hours or a rapid test antigen taken in 1x24 hours prior to the departure.

STATEMENT LETTER FROM NEIGHBORHOOD/COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

One of the permit letters need to be owned is Exit/Entry Permit. Those who plan to travel outside the city are also required to show this permit. Throughout Indonesia, there will be several checkpoints for the Exit/Entry Permit.

How to get the Exit/Entry Permit? This requirement can be easily accessed if you are prepared. You just need to come and request it to the head of the local neighborhood/community association by stating your domicile and destination. This letter is an additional requirement besides the regulation on vaccine dose and COVID-19 testing as explained previously.
