Supporting Economic Equity through Infrastructure Development

Infrastructure development that increasingly expands to every corner of Indonesia is one of the government’s efforts to create economic equity. Regional infrastructures will improve the local residents’ quality of life, which will ultimately boost economic movement.

The government is currently working on 245 national strategic projects. The total required fund is predicted to reach Rp 4.197 trillion.

These projects include development in energy, electricity, road, train, land, and other sectors. The biggest portion is road construction with 74 projects.

During 2017, six projects finished. These six projects cost Rp 13.1 trillion in total.

These projects included Soreang-Pasir Koja toll road, Tanjung Priok Access toll road,Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road, Nanga Badau and Aruk Cross Country Border Post (PLBN) in West Kalimantan, as well as PLBN Wini in East Nusa Tenggara.

In the previous year, the government also successfully finished 20 infrastructure projects, such as expansion of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and development of airports in the provinces, to increase the revenue from tourism sector.

Local residents, especially, can now enjoy the benefits of these finished infrastructures. For example, one-price fuel program from Sumatra to Papua, even though it is still limited to several regions.

"We want Indonesians in the outskirts, border areas, foremost islands, and isolated areas to feel the presence of the country, to enjoy the fruits of development, and to feel proud as the citizens of the Republic of Indonesia," said President Joko Widodo said as quoted from Detik Finance, Sunday (February 18).

With the infrastructure facilities, the logistics cost to the provinces become more affordable. Logistics business is progressively and steadily supporting the needs of businesses in the provinces.

To fulfill the need of logistics in the provinces that is predicted to increase, PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA), through its subsidiary SELOG,offers trusted logistics service.

SELOG guarantees that goods arrived on customer’s doorstep securely, timely, and with no defect. Moreover, business players can also make use of Warehouse Management System SELOG to track packages continuously from order acceptance, pick-up, delivery, until order completion.
