Great news! The government has finally approved a raise in the 2025 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). President Prabowo Subianto officially announced a 6.5% increase in late November.
The average 2024 UMP was Rp3,113,359. The 6.5% increase in 2025 raises the national UMP average to Rp3,315,727, an increase of around Rp202,368. However, the increase will vary by province.
When setting the minimum wage, the government applies a specific formula that considers various factors, such as inflation rates, economic growth, and certain indices that reflect the workforce’s contribution to economic growth.
These provisions are stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower. Meanwhile, the sectoral minimum wage is determined by the Provincial, City, and District Wage Councils.
